De rijmodus wordt automatisch geactiveerd wanneer het voertuig in beweging is, en moderne tachograafkoppen keren standaard terug naar de andere werkmodus wanneer ze tot stilstand komen. Met een luchtgeveerde stoel geniet de bestuurder van meer comfort, aangezien de stoel niet rechtstreeks aan de cabine is bevestigd, waarbij de luchtvering tussen hobbels van de weg niet direct naar de bestuurder wordt overgebracht.
